Sonoma Wedding Photography
Going to Napa Valley is always a treat. Especially for some serious Sonoma wedding photography action. Beautiful bride, beautiful venues, beautiful memories! Such an easy group of amazing people we got to shoot. The day was so special for Elise and Adam and all of their friends and family. We were very lucky to share their day with everyone there. I was just writing Elise and Adam yesterday telling them how much fun I remembered having while I went thru their pictures. We had a blast with our tomfoolery in the vineyards. I told them how much I miss that day! In wonderful Sonoma, CA, the weather was perfect and the smiles were big. The reception was held at Ramekins in Sonoma, CA. Ramekins is an awesome venue. It’s a cooking school, catering business and wedding venue. The grounds are beautiful. There’s a wood-fired pizza oven on the patio! Elise and Adam made sure that thing was up and running for us. I ate several veggie pizzas. Thanks to Eric Turner at Eric Turner Photography for helping us big time! Below are the answers to some questions we had Elise and Adam answer for us…
A) Quick intro facts about the two of you lovebirds/engagement story???
Adam and I met 7 years at the Olive Garden while we were dating other people. 3 years later while I was living in Seattle Adam asked me on a date around christmas time and we were inseparable from that moment one. On December 18th, 2010 adam proposed to me on the top of the tower at the Castello Di Amorosa. It was a huge surprise and very romantic.
B) Total budget + number of guests? (Please let us know if you’d like to keep this private)
Total budget was $35,000
Number is guests – 155
C) Did you design/print your own invitations? Resources? Budgets for those items? (private?)
Adam designed our save the dates and invites. We accounted for them in our budget. We used michaels and kinkos a lot! We wanted to design our own because we wanted the experience to be more personal/
D) Overall theme to your wedding? How did your venue play a part in it?
Our overall theme was a classic romantic wedding. We were married in a church in Sonoma and had the reception at Ramekins in Sonoma. We choose Ramekins because it was in the wine country and played a part in our romantic wine country wedding.
E) Favorite DIY projects? Resources for supplies?
One of our favoriate DIY projects was making the labels for the empty bottles that went on the tables. Instead of numbers for tables we used cities we have traveled to. We put empty wine bottles on each table and then made a label for the wine bottles that had a story behind the city we went to. It was fun writing the stories and remembering all the places and fun we have shared together.
F) What types of flowers did you use?
We used all types of flowers, the main flowers we used were roses fall colored calla lilies. I had six different flowers in my bouquet and each bridesmaid had one type of flower for their bouquet. The idea behind it is I was carry a part of all of them as I walked down the isle.
G) Music! What songs played during the ceremony/1st dance etc?
For the ceremony we had a string trio that played classical music. Our first dance song was The Edge of Love by Mindy Smith. We have friends in a band so they actually played our first dance song live for our first dance. The father/daughter dance was Butterfly Kisses and the mother/son dance was Somewhere Over The Rainbow. During the reception we played a mixture of old school hits and top 20 hits.
H) Where did all the fashion come from (with links if possible)?
The fashion behind everything did not come from somewhere in particular. I just picked out everything according to my theme. I used various bride magazines and the creative minds of my friends for guidance.
I) Please list all the awesome vendors involved in your wedding so we can give them a nice shout-out! (with links to their websites if possible)
1. First and formost the most amazing vendor we had was Sonoma wedding photographer Jeremy from Still Music: Wedding Photography. Our wedding pictures are amazing, we could not be more happy with the quality and wonderful pictures we received.
2. Our delicious wedding cake was made by Sweetie Pies. The owner Toni Chiappetta was wonderful, we wanted to design our own wedding cake and she was very flexible in working with us to design our wedding cake. One of the best parts is on your anniversary you get a free topper wedding cake, so you don’t have to freeze the top of your cake for a year. Their website is. http://www.sweetiepies.com/
3. We used Bella Vita events for our florist. Christina Zegrean put together amazing arrangements. My favoriate arrangement was my bridal bouquet, I showed her a picture of what I wanted and the bouquet turned out even better than the picture. Music: Randy Harris from Pacific Entertainment was our DJ, he did a wonderful job. For our cocktail ceremony we had a harpist and for the cermony we had a string trio.
Coordinator(s): Yvette Preute from Ramekins was a huge part in making our wedding day happen. My mom and I did a lot of the coordination, but Yvette was huge in helping us put everything together.

Hair/makeup: My makeup was done by Rochell Foust. Rochell was recommend to me from a friend and I could not have been happier. I did not want too much makeup, but just enough to stand out. She did exactly what I wanted and was very helpful with suggestions.
J) Did you create a Pinterest board to hold all your wedding inspiration? Can you share the link?
No we did not create a pinterest
K) How did you decide upon location or aesthetic?
We knew we wanted to get married in the wine country. Adam was searching online one day and found Ramekins, we thought is would be perfect because it is a culinary school and in the wine county. It was important to us to find a location that has great food and atmosphere.
L) Advice for other couples?
Advice for other couples is to have fun, don’t get wrapped up in the little things. It is so easy to get upset because of something little, just think of the bigger picture and how exciting it will be to marry the love of your life. Have fun with the planning and get things done ahead of time so you can enjoy the week of your wedding with family.
M) Anything else that made your wedding special?
What made our wedding special was having all our friends and family there. It was a perfect day and could not have been perfect with out the presence of all our loved ones. Another special thing is Adam and I made all the decorations at the ceremony and reception, so our guests really felt the special touch on every detail.
