This Napa wedding was something special. Holly and Doug are outdoor enthusiasts who met in 2006 while attending college in Santa Cruz, CA. The couple explained that in the “summer of 2013 we took a trip to Denali, Alaska where Holly spent Summers growing up. Somewhere in between hiking through the tundra, flying over mountain tops, canoeing and swatting at thousands of mosquitos, we got engaged”. The couple planned a stunning Barn wedding in St. Helena, complete with many vintage and DIY touches. Holly say’s “the location is so beautiful, so all decorations are meant to compliment rustic, joyful, beautiful”. The couple incorporated many friends and family into the planning of their day. Doug’s mother is a florist and her company Garden Party Napa provided the flowers. The cake was made by bridesmaid and best friend Katie of Sweet Peony Cakes. The officiant was friend of the couple Jocelyn.
One of the highlights for us was Holly’s bridal gown. The breathtaking wedding dress was made by close friend Tawny of Armour Sans Anguish. Tawny says “we created a completely one-of-a-kind gown utilizing family heirlooms throughout the hand sewn bodice. Her gown has a slight train and was finished off with an antique ribbon.” You can see Tawny’s feature of this unique piece on her website here.
Our other favorite part of the day? Flower Grandparents! Too adorable, seriously.
The day went off without a hitch and everyone enjoyed celebrating Holly and Doug’s love. We hope you enjoy a few of our favorites from the day. All the best to the happy, lovely couple!
